Overview:
Participated in UpLab design challenge of redesign Gmail screen.
Challenges:
I personally always had a challenge while using gmail messenger and scrolling in-between menu item. I believe messenger doesn't get a right justice in its placement in current gmail and also the design make it look very compressed.
Goal:
To make the screen look more clean and clear in design. I have separated messenger from menu item, so that user can view contact who all are online for messaging. I have also design the mail list as per current UI trend with some white space, which give the content more importance and it looks more clear for user to go through mail one by one. I also thing gmail should have option of a dark them for better legibility, this can be useful for people who work at night or are sensitive to the screen brightness.
